Mental Ill-health & Substance Misuse for Young People under the age of 18 Coastal West Sussex MIND

What is the event?

This is a half day course for people working with children and young people in West Sussex.

This course is being delivered through a partnership between Coastal West Sussex Mind, Change, Grow Live and West Sussex County Council.

Aims This Mental ill-health and substance misuse in young people under the age of 18 course will cover:

• Definitions, attitudes & the young person’s experience

• Identifying mental ill-health and substance misuse - ‘Signs and symptoms’?

• Identifying and responding more effectively to young people experiencing both mental health and substance use issues

• Being aware of support pathways and key service providers in the county

Getting to the venue By Car - there are 90 free car parking spaces available at the venue. Once you are parked, you need to collect a free permit from reception and display the permit in your car.

By Train - the nearest station is Haywards Heath station which is about a 10 minute walk away from the venue.

By Bus - the venue is about 5 minutes walk away from the town centre, where there are many bus routes.

Timings and breaks The course runs from 1.30pm - 4.30pm.

It is essential that you arrive on time and complete the course. If this is not possible please inform us by email before proceeding to book at [email protected]

Refreshments Tea and coffee with also be provided in the mid-afternoon break. We will try to provide a caffeine free option but this cannot be guaranteed.

Registration fee Your £15 registration fee is NON-REFUNDABLE.

Cancellations Please notify us ASAP if you are unable to attend the course at [email protected]. As this is a funded programme our aim is to ensure all available places are taken up. Early notification may mean we can offer this space to someone on our waiting list.
