Anxiety & Wellbeing - Coastal West Sussex MIND and ASPENS

What is the event?

This is a free half day course for parents and carers who live in West Sussex.

Course Aims: Anxiety is a real difficulty for many children and young people with ASC and ADHD. Anxiety can happen for a range of reasons and everyone can vary in their ability to cope with it. Anxiety can affect both the mind and the body, producing a range of symptoms- it affects the individual with anxiety but also has a wider impact on the whole family. This workshop explores why anxiety is so prevalent with children and young people with ASC and ADHD, how to understand, support and manage anxiety related behaviours, as well as appreciate the impact of the iceberg effect and anxiety cycle. This workshop will explore ways of encouraging well-being, promoting motivational values and interests, focusing on increasing quality of life while maintaining a healthy balance of anxiety and wellbeing.

Getting to the Venue There is parking at the venue and it is a 20 minute walk from Horsham station. Buses are avaible from the station to the venue.

Refreshments Tea and coffee will be provided mid-morning.

Cancellations Please notify us ASAP if you are unable to attend the course. As this is a funded programme our aim is to ensure all available places are taken up. Early notification may mean we can offer this space to someone on our waiting list.
