School Refusal in Primary Aged Children - Coastal West Sussex MIND - YMCA Downslink

What is the event?

This session is for parents and/or carers who are responsible for children and young people in West Sussex.

This course is being delivered through a partnership between Coastal West Sussex Mind, West Sussex County Council and West Sussex CCGs.

Course Aims:

•What does refusal mean – is it conscious or unconscious?

•Define the Push/ Pull factors in school refusal

•Consider the role of attachment and trauma in school refusal

•Explore strategies for working with children displaying school refusal

•Understand the support and resources available to you

Getting to the Venue:

The nearest train station to Field Place is Durrington and it is a 10 minute walk. The Pulse is a bus service which runs regularly nearby. There is free car parking on site and disabled spaces.

Timings:

The event will run from 14:30 - 17:30

Please notify us ASAP if you are unable to attend the course. As this is a funded programme our aim is to ensure all available places are taken up. Early notification may mean we can offer this space to someone on our waiting list.
