Wheely Wonders (SEND) Summer Family Day
What is the event?
Join us for a family day of forest school, farm fun and crafts!
These sessions are specifically designed for children and young people with special educational needs and disabilities, physically disabled children and young people, their siblings, parents and carers, set at Applefield, a beautiful, intimate and private smallholding in Sidlesham, near Selsey.
The fun to be had!...
We will spend sometime having a relaxed stroll exploring the farm and meeting some of the animals. Spot the lambs happily skipping around the field, we may even get the opportunity to get up close to one. Feed the goats and meet Rosemary the donkey who loves a carrot or two.
We will be running some forest school activities and these may include sawing and drilling wood to make natural crafts to take home and remind you of your day. Time spent in the wooded area, hunting for bugs, exploring, swinging in the hammock or relaxing in our nest swing. and playing in the mud kitchen.
Around the fire circle:
There will be an opportunity to learn some fire lighting skills using a flint and steel for those who wish to try and we will have a camp fire to toast a marshmallow. We'll make a cup of tea or coffee for the adults and a hot chocolate or squash for the children too, before we have some well earned relaxing time and leisurely lunch break to enjoy your picnic chilling on the field or in the greenhouse before an afternoon of Lizzie's Craft Club.
Lizzie's Craft Club:
Lizzie's Craft Club will be held in the field or greenhouse, weather dependant. You will enjoy a relaxing afternoon creating a 3D hanging butterfly decoration, making a caterpillar keyring with buttons and designing your own foam sun visor to make you look cool through the holidays! A drink and biscuit will also be provided during Craft Club.
£8.00 per child. Places are partialy funded by Wellspring West Sussex.
