What is the event?

Early Intervention - Spotting the Signs is our new eating disorders training programme for those working in secondary schools or school nurses.

It is estimated that 20% of young people within secondary schools will exhibit some signs of an eating disorder. By attending our Spotting the Signs training session, delivered by one of our expert clinical trainers, you will be able to spot the signs in your students and learn how to support them effectively as well as gain access to our exclusive professional support services.

• An awareness of the three major eating disorders and the impact they can have on day to day life

• An understanding of the risk factors associated with eating disorders and the ability to spot the early signs

• How to best support pupils who might be affected by eating disorders and make an effective referral

• Awareness of services available, including local eating disorders services and Beat’s services”
