What is the event?

Eligibility This is a three hour session for parents, families and carers who are responsible for children and young people in West Sussex.

This course is being delivered through a partnership between Coastal West Sussex Mind, West Sussex County Council and West Sussex CCGs.

About the course Anxiety and Wellbeing

Anxiety is a real difficulty for many children and young people with ASC and ADHD. Anxiety can happen for a range of reasons and people with and everyone can vary in their ability to cope with it. Anxiety can affect both the mind and the body, producing a range of symptoms, it affects the individual with anxiety but also has a wider impact on the whole family. This workshop explores why anxiety is so prevalent with children and young people with ASC and ADHD, how to understand, support and manage anxiety related behaviours, as well as appreciate the impact of the iceberg effect and anxiety cycle. This workshop will explore ways of encouraging well-being, promoting motivational values and interests, focusing on increasing quality of life while maintaining a healthy balance of anxiety and wellbeing.

Getting to the Venue There is a pay and display car park at the venue and it is a 20 minute walk from Horsham station. Buses are avaible from the station to the venue.

Timings The course runs from 10:00 - 13:00. Please arrive in plenty of time to ensure a prompt start
