What is the event?

Eligibility This is a three hour event for parents, carers and families of children and young people in West Sussex.

Course Content This is a 3 hour workshop for parents, carers and family members of children and young people in West Sussex. This session is delivered by a trainer with autism who is able to give a first person perspective of what it is like to be autistic and female.

By the end of this workshop students will be able to;

· Describe how girls on the Autistic Spectrum present differently to boys.

· Understand the diagnostic challenges for girls that can lead to misdiagnosis and late diagnosis

· Explain why girls on the autistic spectrum are more likely to mask their differences and how masking can impact mental health

· Explore suggestions to empower and support girls with ASC

Getting to the venue Barnham Community Hall is easily accessible by road, rail, and foot. There is ample free parking on site and full disabled facilities.

Timings The course runs from 10:00 - 13:00. Please arrive in good time to allow for a prompt start.
