Sensory Processing (for parents and carers) - VIRTUAL LEARNING EVENT
Event
What is the event?
Sensory Processing
Delivered by Aspens on behalf of West Sussex Mind
Sensory processing differences are a common trait of autism. Because of the autistic wiring of the brain, sensory stimuli can be processed in a different way making the world around them overwhelming and unpredictable. Such differences can have a severe impact on a child’s anxiety, learning, engagement and well-being.
This session aims to provide parents and carers of children with autism with a better understanding of how such difference can impact the individual, and some strategies and resources that can be used to help the child manage the environment around them.
The session will include: • Sensory processing • Sensory processing differences and autism • Helpful tips and strategies
There is a small fee payable of £5 to help cover our costs.
