What is the event?

An opportunity for Carers to meet within a confidential environment, to access support, gain information and peer engagement!

This group is open to all carers to talk about their caring role, to meet & chat with other carers and to access information and support from our Carer Wellbeing Worker and Age UK Community Liaison Worker

This group meeting will give you the chance & space to discuss issues affecting you and time to talk in confidence.

With the agreement of the group, some sessions may have speakers.

About your hosts

Maxine has worked for Carers Support West Sussex for over 9 years. Originally a counsellor before joining the Community and Emotional Support Teams. Maxine has personal experience of being a carer and understands the challenges that caring can bring. She has supported many carers of people with a variety of long-term conditions. Maxine has successfully facilitated a number of support groups and has seen first-hand the benefits that carers experience when they come together and share their knowledge and feelings in a confidential and safe space.

Nicola works for Age UK as a Community Agent. Her role is to help, support and signpost older people to services provide, information and guidance to reduce social isolation. Nicola works in partnership with local groups, activities, professionals, and services and connects older people to support.
