Making Sense of SEN Support at School

What is the event?

This online workshop is aimed at parents/carers of children with Special Educational Needs and /or Disabilities (SEND) who want to have an understanding of what schools need to be doing to support you and your child where there is no Education Health Care Plan (EHCP).

Please note this workshop is not suitable for parents who already have an Education Health Care Plan (EHCP) in place for their child.

West Sussex SENDIAS will talk through the definition of SEND, the process schools should be using to identify needs and give support, and how schools should be engaging with parent/carers where there are concerns. They will also touch on funding, the Local Offer and what to do if SEND Support is not working.

Please note this workshop is funded by Reaching Families for parents and carers of children with special educational needs and/or disabilities in West Sussex only. It is not suitable for professionals.
