What is the event?

Eligibility This is a half-day course for people working with children and young people in West Sussex. This course is being delivered through a partnership between Coastal West Sussex Mind, Allsorts, West Sussex County Council and West Sussex CCGs. This training will explore the issues and challenges that Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Trans or Unsure (of their sexual orientation or gender identity) children and young people face, how they are impacted by these, and how best to support them. We will learn ways to make our services safer and more LGBT inclusive by exploring ways of identifying and challenging homophobia, bi and transphobia at home, school, college or work.

Getting to the Venue The closest station to the venue is Crawley station which is a 5 minute walk from the library. The local buses all stop at the bus station, a 5 minute walk from the library. Next to Crawley Library is a short stay four hour pay and display car park. This is on Haslett Avenue. There are other pay and display car parks nearby (including the County Mall shopping centre just opposite) or you may be able to find some off-road free parking around a 10-15 minute walk away.

Timings The course runs from 1.30pm - 4.30pm

Refreshments Tea and coffee with also be provided mid afternoon. It is essential that you arrive on time and complete the course. If this is not possible please inform us by email before proceeding to book at [email protected]

Registration fee Your £10 registration fee is non-refundable.

Cancellations Please notify us ASAP if you are unable to attend this course as this course is heavily subsidised as it is a funded programme. Our aim is to ensure all available places are taken up. Please inform us if you are unable to take up your space as we can offer this to someone on our waiting list.
