The Therapies In Schools (TIS) service brings added Physiotherapy and Occupational Therapy into the local authority maintained special schools in West Sussex . The vision for TIS is to enable schools, families and therapists to work in partnership to deliver life learning outcomes that blend the child's educational aspirations with their therapeutic needs. TIS provides direct therapy to children alongside training and support to the whole educational school staff

What we do:

  • TIS is funded by WSCC to provide extra NHS therapy support Oak Grove College, Herons Dale and Palatine Primary, Fordwater School, St Anthonys, Woodlands Mead, QE2, Manor Green College & Manor Green Primary, Cornfield, and Littlegreen School.
  • To provide direct therapy to children in schools. Additionally work alongside education staff to enable them to provide personalised therapeutic input for all children in their care.
  • For all staff to complete Level 1 of the accredited therapy TIS training programme within the first 6 moths of employment. Also provides bespoke training to individual class teams where a need arises.
  • Ensure integrated and inclusive working with external agencies and our valued partners.
  • Be present at parent evenings and local events to promote the therapeutic work happening in the schools. To invite parents to work together with school and therapy to achieve the children's goals.
