Releasing Potential School (Alternative Provision)

Service

An Independent School for children aged 11-18 with Special Educational Needs. Releasing Potential has operated since 2001, becomming a school in 2017. Releasing Potential School is now recognised by OFSTED as a 'good' school. We offer specialist placements to young people who have not thrived in mainstream settings, and we specialise in working with emotionally vulnerable young people or those with very challenging behaviour.

What we do:

  • Placements for children and young people with Special Educational needs aged 11-18.
  • Specialised provision for emotionally vulnerable children and young people as well as those with challenging behaviour who have been excluded from mainstream school.
  • Specially developed, OFSTED-inspected, Department-for-education-approved curriculum focusing on outdoor activities, personal development and vocational placement opportunities.
  • Full and part time provision delivered by specially trained staff in both small group and 1:1 settings; all staff are trained to Level 3 in The Management of Challenging Behaviour (NCFE).
  • Supported vocational placements are available to students through Releasing Potential Enterprises, a collection of small businesses owned and managed by the school including a farm, shop, printing/design business and outboard engine repair business.
