Returning to School During COVID-19 : Information and Resources

Tu Vida

Service

All children and young people want to do lots of things; those with disabilities may need help to do them, Tu Vida can give that help. Every child and young person has the right to take part fully in the world around them and to enjoy the same experiences as everyone else.

Tu Vida is on hand to give short breaks to children and young people ages 11 – 18 that are socially isolated or not attending Education

What we do:

  • Our Respite at Home and Respite Out and About are tailored to the needs of the Carer and the person being cared for.
  • Our carers have a range of passions that include: reading, movies, online gaming, walking, swimming, bowling, football and many more, so the person being cared for is stimulated and engaged.
  • Staff are also trained in administering medication and personal care.
  • Our carers love what they do! Watch the video to hear from them.

Our users say:

“This support has been good it has enabled my Grandson to leave the home and attend activities he likes doing and improve his chance of building relationships, by returning back to school, it has built his confidence and trust and his fear of rejection "

Posted by the Local Offer on behalf of a carer: “This support has been good it has enabled my Grandson to leave the home and attend activities he likes doing and improve his chance of building relationships, by returning back to school, it has built his confidence and trust and his fear of rejection seems less, along with his fear of failure. I am worried when this support ends with his return to school a trigger may result in us going back to how it was last year”.
