Educational Psychology Service, West Sussex (Inclusion)

Service

West Sussex Educational Psychology Service (EPS) is a specialist team working across the County. Through the application of psychology, we aim to promote the educational, social/emotional development of children and young people who have an Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP).

The service have published guidance on Emotionally Based School Avoidance (EBSA)

What we do:

  • Who we work with: targeted children and young people from 0-25, parents and carers, educational organisations and settings and other agencies
  • Who we focus on: Children and young people with an Education Health and Care Plan (EHCP), pre-school children discussed at an Early Years Planning meeting (EY PARM)
  • Who we focus on: young people who receive Special Educational Needs support and where there are ongoing concerns about their progress
  • Our Service: all of our Educational Psychologists have undertaken professional training and are registered with the HCPC

Our users say:

EP was a lovely, understanding person to work with. She listened patiently and considerately to what we had to say and really helped to make this process easier. Thank you very much.
