Sensory Support Team, West Sussex (Inclusion)

The West Sussex Sensory Support Team works directly with children and their families, pre-schools and schools to support and promote the inclusion of children with sensory needs in a range of settings. New referrals should be made to either the Visually or Hearing Impaired Lead Advisory Teacher 01903-270430 you can also download the referral form and permission form. View our privacy notice here.

What we do:

  • Liaise with colleagues from Health and Social Care to ensure a joined up approached with parents at the heart of decision making.
  • Provide specialist advice and reports for Special Educational Needs assessments.
  • Advice may also be sought from the SENCo of the child’s early years setting or school.
  • Provide specialist technologies on an individual basis for curriculum access.

Our users say:

“Parents are called within 24 hours of diagnosis which is fantastic. I had a call the evening we got our son’s diagnosis and the sheer relief of knowing someone was there all ready to support us was invaluable"
