The Windmills Junior school is located in the picturesque surroundings of the South Downs in Hassocks. We currently have 300 children between the ages of 7 to11 years in 11 classes. We strive to support all children to enable them to achieve at school.

What we do:

We provide an exciting, stimulating and creative curriculum so that our children make good progress.
Many steps are taken to support children through their learning journey. Quality first teaching is vital; however for some children there are occasions when further additional support may be needed to help them achieve their targets.
We recognise the importance of early intervention to identify Special Educational Needs.
Where concerns have been identified, a programme of targeted support and classroom strategies are put into place to address those needs to enable children to access the curriculum within the classroom.
All staff are regularly trained to support children with additional needs. The Inclusion Manager liaises with appropriate professionals and the school operates an open-door policy for parents to visit and discuss any additional needs their child may have.
