Palatine Primary School (Special School)

Service

We pride ourselves in being a truly inclusive learning community where everyone is enabled to achieve the most they can, progress as far as they can and learn as much as they can.

What we do:

  • Palatine Primary School is a community special school in West Sussex which caters for pupils with moderate, severe of profound learning needs
  • All staff have ongoing training in a range of special educational needs and disabilities. All staff are trained in the use of Team Teach (positive handling and restraint) and manual handling.
  • All lessons are planned to meet the specific needs of the pupil group and some pupils’ highly personalised learning is provided. Pupils with PMLD follow a highly personalised route map curriculum.
  • Specialist school nurses are based at Palatine Primary School. Support from the NHS comes from the Physiotherapy team, Speech and Language Therapy team and occupational therapy team.
  • There are 3 bays for people with disabilities in the car park and the school is on one level with wide corridors. In addition we have toilet facilities for those with disabilities and two hygiene rooms.
