Thorney Island Community Primary School

Service

At Thorney Island Community Primary School we are committed to offering an inclusive curriculum to ensure progress for all groups of pupils regardless of need or ability and a rounded education which enables them to fulfil their potential.

What we do:

  • We excite, challenge and support all learners to progress, make a positive contribution and achieve their potential. We provide an enjoyable, enriched educational experience, relevant and meaningful for every child.
  • SEN provision is underpinned by high quality teaching which is closely monitored to ensure maximum impact for all pupils. Those with SEND will receive support that is additional to or different from provision made for other children.
  • The school continuously strives to use relevant, researched based practice to support all pupils with SEND to experience high quality first teaching.
  • Our school endeavours to remove barriers to learning across all areas of development. We value working in partnership with our families to make high aspirations a reality for every child.
  • Provision for children with SEND is a matter for the school as a whole. ALL teachers are teachers of children with SEND. Teaching such children is therefore a whole school responsibility.
