St Oscar Romero Catholic School

Service

We are committed to promote a positive learning environment that challenges, supports and celebrates every students achievements. To ensure that all students become part of our school community irrespective of their individual needs. To recognise the valve of each student and their potential to progress in all areas.

What we do:

  • We are committed to the early identification of special educational needs, and adopt a graduated response to meeting them, in line with the SEND Code of Practice 2014
  • The named SENCo for the school is Jacqueline Martin. The Governing Body as a whole is responsible for making provision for pupils with SEN, Mrs D Ellmer is the Governors with specific responsibility.
  • The school may support your child in a variety of ways depending on their individual needs. The first way is within the classroom, where learning tasks will be matched to your child’s needs and will be overseen by the subject teacher.
  • The policy of the school is to enable students with SEN to have access to a broadly based and balanced curriculum, including the National Curriculum.
  • We aim to develop children’s emotional and social well-being in partnership with parents and carers.
