St Mary's Catholic Primary School

Service

We are a Voluntary Aided primary school which was founded by and is part of the Catholic Church. Although Catholic children have priority of admission, the Governing Body also welcomes applications from those of other denominations and faiths who support the religious ethos of the school.

What we do:

  • St Mary's Catholic Primary School believes that each person is unique and made in the image and likeness of God as expressed through Jesus Christ. We believe our mission is to recognise, nurture and develop the God given gifts and talents of individuals.
  • We welcome everyone into our community. We endeavour to make available inclusive provision to ensure that all children can enjoy and benefit from a broad and balanced education at an appropriate level so that they may achieve their full potential.
  • Children occasionally face social and emotional challenges which can impact on their learning and the learning of others; for these more vulnerable children we will provide additional support to help children manage these challenges.
  • We recognise key principles of nurture:
  • All behaviour is communication Classrooms should offer a safe base Nurture is important for development of self-esteem Language is a vital means of communication Learning is developmental Change is significant in the lives of children
