Manor Green Primary School (Special School)

Service

Manor Green Primary School caters for pupils aged ranging two to eleven years. All our pupils have learning difficulties and additional needs. There are sixteen classes, each with a teacher and two or more special support assistants. We are supported by speech and language therapists, physiotherapists and occupational therapists. We offer specialised activities such as hydrotherapy and riding. We also pride ourselves on our links with the wider community through activities and visits.

What we do:

  • The needs of our pupils are met through the delivery of a curriculum which embraces the National Curriculum and Foundation Stage Curriculum, and through an individual education plan and close liaison with families, professionals and other schools.
  • The school welcomes visitors. The Headteacher usually shows prospective families around by appointment. Pupils are admitted to the school following a statutory assessment, which will have resulted in them being awarded an ECHP (or statement).
  • The school is made up of sixteen classes and divided into Early Years, Lower School, Upper School and Specialist Classes. The classes are based on children's abilities rather that age. Each department is lead by a member of the senior leadership team.
  • We have a large hall, courtyard area, hydro pool, light and sound room, dark room, soft play, library, sensory and wildlife area, playground, multi use games area and outside learning areas. Each class is equipped with interactive whiteboards and IT.
  • Every child in the specialist classes has complex learning needs and requires a high level of personalised learning with a higher staff/pupil ratio. Special diets and feeding requirements are met by our on site kitchen, school nurse and class teams.

Our users say:

results from 2015 parent/carer survey - "Care and teaching at the school are exemplary," "more progress has been made than I ever thought possible," "Can only say positive things about Manor Green," "couldn't wish for my child to be at a better school"
