Harting CE Primary School

Service

At Harting School, we see all children as individuals and we strive for all children to achieve their full potential, and leave us with a deep love of learning. Our Christian ethos embeds kindness, trust, hope and respect into our curriculum offer, regardless of children’s age or ability. Through dynamic and adaptable lessons and activities, we aim for pupils to become confident and resilient, and move through life successfully.

What we do:

  • We talk with children and families, engaging with previous education providers and outside agencies to understand each child’s needs. Children with SEND are given an ISP (Individual Support Plan) which is reviewed regularly with parents, children & staff.
  • Our ongoing cycle of Assess, Plan, Do, Review ensures that children are continuously monitored, and challenged and that learning is appropriate for each individual.
  • We have an open-door policy and parents are always welcome to make appointments to talk to staff. Our highly skilled ELSA (Emotional Literacy Support Assistant) can provide support both within the classrooms and in our calm and therapeutic spaces.
  • All staff regularly engage with CPD which ensures training needs are met and up to date. Staff are made aware of the different barriers to learning that children may face and are equipped with a range of strategies to support them.
  • We have a building which is mainly on one level, allowing good accessibility for all. We have a large playground with different zones.
