Mary Hare School for deaf children

Service

Mary Hare School is a residential school for all deaf children and young people, aged 5 to 19 years of age. We teach deaf children through an auditory oral approach, which means that the young people learn through listening, speaking and writing English.

What we do:

Primary, Secondary and 6th Form education
We focus on communication and language skills so that pupils can access the full curriculum
Pupils enjoy a large peer group of deaf pupils
Small classes taught by Teachers of the Deaf who are also subject specialists
Specialist support includes speech and language therapists, audiology unit, acoustically treated classrooms, technology to assist learning

Mary Hare School Open Day

This is a big date in our school calendar as we showcase everything that we have on offer. Mary Hare School is a large residential school for deaf children and young people aged 4 to 19.
