Complex Behaviour Support Team (CBST) Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service (CAMHS)

What we do:

• Consultations are used to explore the young person’s difficulties and work out how to support them and their family. We aim to come to a shared understanding of the difficulties with recommendations to help the situation to move forward.
• Case work is offered to young people who have behaviours which are complex and challenging in a range of settings. We can work more intensively with a young person across these settings to address the difficulties the young person is experiencing.
• We are able to offer a variety of groups to parents and carers, which include: understanding autism and positive behaviour support.
• Examples of emotional and behavioural difficulties we can help : anxiety, low mood, disruptive behaviours, communication difficulties, managing change & transitions, anger & aggression, inappropriate sexual behaviour, self-harm and complex sleep problems.
