Northgate Primary School
Service
Northgate Primary School is a mainstream school with a maintained nursery and a Special Support Centre for children with a hearing impairment. We are an expanding school. When children leave Northgate they will be independent, life-long learners who are confident risk-takers and respectful, aspirational members of the community.
What we do:
- At Northgate, teaching and learning creates a happy and responsive environment where all children are engaged, challenged and reflect on their achievements.
- In the Early Years, teaching and learning is an enjoyable journey of discovery led by the children within a caring, supportive and stimulating environment.
- To be considered for a place in our SSC children must have an Education Health Care Plan or Statement. Children are based in their mainstream classroom supported by SSC staff where necessary, as well as withdrawn for specific interventions.
- We are committed to the inclusion of all pupils in school and we regularly liaise with & support parents. All pupils' learning needs are planned for by class teachers and will be differentiated according to the children's needs.
- Occasionally a pupil may need further support from an outside agency such as the Child Development Centre, Occupational therapy, Speech and Language Therapy, Social Care or the School Nurse etc. Referral will be discussed with parents/carers.
