Living with Self-Harm (for people working with children and young people)
What is the event?
This is a two hour course for people working with children and young people in West Sussex.
This course is being delivered through a partnership between Coastal West Sussex Mind, YMCA Downslink Group and West Sussex County Council.
If The Hurt Could Talk What Would It Say? (Living with Self Harm)
To raise awareness of self harm from a young person’s perspective, drawing from a collection of stories and poems.
To explore some of the reasons why young people self harm and challenge the myths that surrounds them. Identify what works for a young person who self harms, exploring strategies and ways forward in getting the right help.
To develop helpful responses to a young persons disclosure and explore how hearing their stories impacts us and how we go about looking after ourselves
The nearest train station is Chichester rail station which is a 10 minute walk to New Park Centre. There is some free on-site car parking which is on a first come first served basis and not able to be reserved. There are also four disabled car parking spaces in site. Next to New Park is a large public car park with pay and display.
The course runs from 2.30pm - 4.30pm
