What is the event?
Eligibility This is a half-day course for people working with children and young people in West Sussex. This course is being delivered through a partnership between Coastal West Sussex Mind, YMCA Downslink Group, West Sussex County Council, West Sussex CCGs, and Heath Education England.
Course Content
If The Hurt Could Talk What Would It Say? (Living with Self Harm) - To raise awareness of self harm from a young person’s perspective, drawing from a collection of stories and poems. - To explore some of the reasons why young people self harm and challenge the myths that surrounds them. Identify what works for a young person who self harms, exploring strategies and ways forward in getting the right help. - To develop helpful responses to a young persons disclosure and explore how hearing their stories impacts us and how we go about looking after ourselves
Getting to the Venue
The closest rail station is Littlehampton. The 700 bus stops nearby and it will be 5 mins walk from either Littlehampton rail station or Anchor Springs. There is no on-site car parking but a pay car park opposite the venue, at the back of the RNLI which will be £3.20 for up to four hours parking.
Timings & Breaks
The course runs from 9:30 – 12:30
Refreshments
Tea and coffee with also be provided during the mid-morning break time.
Registration fee
Your £10 registration fee for this course helps towards the additional venue and refreshment costs.
Cancellations
Please notify us ASAP if you are unable to attend the course. As this is a funded programme our aim is to ensure all available places are taken up. Early notification may mean we can offer this space to someone on our waiting list.
