Coddiwomple Play Therapy

Service

Play therapy supports children and young people to use their language of play to explore feelings, experiences and needs that are difficult to understand or express. By using play, children can work through these feelings in a safe and familiar way that meets their needs, rather than having to find words or meanings which may be too overwhelming.

What we do:

  • Play Therapy promotes children and young people’s emotional wellbeing. Play Therapy uses sand, art, clay, music, puppets, role play and other tools to help children make sense of their world.
  • Sessions are face to face using a holistic approach, following the child’s lead. Sessions are once per week for 40 minutes with a minimum of 12 sessions recommended. Sessions can be held in the child’s educational setting or at another suitable venue.
  • Therapeutic support for children and young people who have experienced a range of emotional, social or relationship difficulties such as anxiety, stress, friendship issues, bereavement, abuse or family related trauma.
  • Certified play therapist with extensive experienced in trauma informed intervention. Fully insured, EDBS and safeguarding trained. Compliant with GDPR.
  • Session costs and venues will be discussed during an initial consultation. This will be an opportunity for the parent/carer to share their observations of the child and explore if Play Therapy may be right for them. Please make contact via the website.
