St Augustines CE Primary School

Service

We aim to meet the needs of every child, through a differentiated, balanced, and broad curriculum. Where children will achieve and not be afraid to take risks. We aim to produce healthy, happy , and polite children, who embrace Christian values.

What we do:

  • We have high expectations and set challenging targets for all children, including those with SEN, promoting individual confidence and a positive attitude.
  • Ensure that all pupils experience success, whatever their special educational needs, by receiving appropriate educational provision through a broad and balanced curriculum that is relevant and differentiated, ensuring progression in learning.
  • Recognise the importance of early intervention, involving parents/carers at all stages through continual assessment, recording and review of pupils’ progress and needs. And when appropriate working with other professionals and support services.
  • Where concerns are identified a plan of support will be drawn up to show strategies and resources that a child will need to access, through quality provision within the classroom, and where necessary in small groups or on a one to one basis.
  • Consider admission to school for children with SEN on exactly the same basis as those without SEN, giving pupils with SEN equal opportunities to take part in all aspects of the school’s provision, as far as is appropriate.

Our users say:

The school have been incredibly supportive during the diagnosis process and since then have been incredibly supportive as we have applied for a Statement of Educational Needs for x, the result of which is due in the next month.
