Thakeham Primary School
Service
Thakeham is a small school, providing big opportunities for great achievements! We are a unique, friendly school committed to providing a safe, caring and happy learning environment. All children are valued, they have positive attitudes and are motivated to learn, be creative and have fun along the way.
What we do:
- The children and adults in our learning community agree that we want our school to be one where children and learning are at the heart of everything we do.
- We strive for a quality and effective home/ school partnership. The ongoing dialogue between children, parents/carers and school staff helps to ensure that children are well supported and their needs are met.
- Staff are well trained to support children with a range of Special Educational Needs including: Speech, Language and Communication; Autism and Learning Difficulties . We are proud to have achieved the Autism Aware Award in 2015.
- We recognise the importance of early intervention to identify special needs. We have strong and supportive links with outside professionals including: Speech Therapists, Physiotherapists and Learning and Behaviour Advisory and Social Communication Teams.
- We want all of our children to be happy, inspired and resilient individuals, with a love of learning and of life, and a strong sense of responsibility, both within our local community and the wider world.
